Christ's Hospital Music School
Students enjoy unrivalled music facilities at Christ's Hospital, with a superb teaching faculty drawn from London and the South East. A full concert schedule exists both within and outside School, giving performance opportunities to all ages and abilities, various workshops, masterclasses, informal concerts including composition and jazz with visiting specialist musicians. The School promotes professional concert series, and the chapel choir has recorded four CDs. Recent trips abroad have included the String tour to Rome and the Band's trip to California. There is also an extensive chamber music programme including an annual Purcell Room concert in London. Instrumental tuition fees are charged according to parental income, with free tuition to all GCSE and A Level Music students, and those of Grade V standard who progress at a satisfactory pace. Community Music
Christ's Hospital hosts community Choirs and String orchestras. The atmosphere in all the groups is friendly, informal and welcoming - just turn up to one of the rehearsals and either watch to see what goes on or join in straight away. For further details click here.
Christ's Hospital Theatre
Drama at Christ's Hospital is a thriving and very popular subject, with excellent performance opportunities available in the School’s award-winning, courtyard-style theatre. The theatre also promotes a number of highly diverse productions each year, by both pupils and professional theatre companies, providing numerous opportunities for attending like performances. Pupils are currently studying for GCSE and AS/A2 Drama. Excellent results are also achieved in the LAMDA grade exams and there have been a significant number of students going on to study drama or related technical subjects at higher education level.
