Benevolent Society of Blues

Benevolent Society of Blues

The purpose of The Benevolent Society of Blues (or BSB as it is colloquially known) is to help those educated at Christ's Hospital, their parents, spouses, widows, widowers, children or dependents, who are in need of assistance. The BSB pays small pensions to a group of elderly people on low income to help them in their later years.

We give sums to people or families who need funds to continue their lives. We make loans to younger folk who need support to establish their way in the world, to obtain professional qualifications or to continue their education. We present children of Old Blues, who qualify for help from the BSB, to the School so that they may be educated here.

We are a separate registered charity, so the group of people we can help is strictly laid down and they have to show that they meet the test of "need, hardship or distress". If you would like to become a subscriber to the BSB or make a gift to the Society, or if you wish to put us in touch with a potential beneficiary, please let us know us and we will be happy to contact you.
