The Admissions Process - Step by Step
- Parents first complete and return the application and methods of entry forms. We recommend the forms be returned when the child is aged 9 and in Year 5 at school so we have plenty of time to help with the process.
- On receipt of the forms, we will advise you about any action needed regarding methods of entry.
- Parents who have completed and returned the application and methods of entry forms will be sent an Initial Assessment Pack (to register your child to sit the initial Maths and English assessments).
- Following receipt of all the necessary documentation, we will write to you again to invite your child to sit the Initial Assessment, which normally takes place in November for the following September entry. This Assessment is either taken at Christ's Hospital or at a venue in London and consists of a short Mathematics and English paper. There are no sample papers for this Assessment.
- Letters of invitation to proceed to the Residential Assessment will be sent out at the beginning of December to a maximum of 300 candidates.
- The Residential Assessment takes place at Christ's Hospital in January. Candidates stay overnight and will have the opportunity to experience life at a boarding school and to sit further Mathematics and English papers and Reasoning Tests. Sample papers can be found on our website. A brief interview and sports assessment take place for all. Candidates learning a musical instrument will be encouraged to play and artwork may be brought.
- Parents are notified of the outcome in mid February.
