Entrance Assessments
In the assessments and interviews, we are looking for what a child can do now, signs of their potential to develop in the future and the spirit in which they tackle things.
The assessments are all designed to be suitable for children following the National Curriculum at the relevant point in Year 6. Credit will be given to candidates for intelligent attempts to tackle things they may not have been taught.
A confidential report is requested from the candidate's primary school to give valuable additional help in assessing achievement and also to provide a general character reference.
The child's need for a boarding place at Christ's Hospital and all these factors mentioned above are considered during the assessment process and when places are being allocated.
Academic Requirement
To be considered for a place, all candidates must reach a qualifying level in the Entrance Assessments. As a guide, children need to show evidence of academic potential, working towards the higher end of the ability range in both Mathematics and English National Curriculum syllabus.
Please contact your child's current school early in the process to ask about your child's predicted SATs results (if applicable).
