Uniform
The distinctive uniform of Christ's Hospital is provided free to all pupils, who all wear the outer blue coat, breeches (boys), pleated skirts (girls), white shirt with 'bands', yellow socks (or grey for senior girls) and leather belt.
Year 7 entrants receive a clothing list in their New Entrant Pack.
Sports kit and school shoe suppliers
Broadbridges in Horsham supplies items of Christ's Hospital sports kit and school shoes. The shop can be found at 6 Piries Place (opposite Waitrose), Horsham. Tel: 01403 259620. Parents can order from Broadbridges by telephone and orders can be delivered to the School.
Broadbridges will be on site - in the Court Room - on the first day of each term (Sundays), as well as New Entrants' Day in the summer and when the Second Form arrives in September. It is important to order uniform items in advance to ensure your child has everything they need at the beginning of term.
School Thrift Shop
Both new and current pupils may continue to buy items from the School Thrift Shop which is adjacent to the Quiet Room in the building behind Coleridge (opposite side from Tuck Shop).
The Thrift Shop is open on Thursdays in term time from 3.45 pm to 4.45 pm and on the first day of term from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm. Contact: Mrs Helen Lewis (Peele Matron), tel: 01403 247523 or 01403 247504.
Nametapes and labels from Cash's
The Cash's labels you need to order are Woven Sew-on Name Labels/Woven Nametapes/style-7 RED with the following details:
INITIAL (followed by full stop or space) SURNAME, House abbreviation (PE A, PE B, TH A, TH B, MID A, MID B, COL A, COL B, LA A, LA B, BA A, BA B, MA A, MA B, LH A, LH B) and boarding house number (allocated by matron and given to you on New Entrants' Day in the Summer Term).
e.g. J.SMITH BA B 44
It is easy to underestimate the number of nametapes and shoe labels you will need - think carefully before ordering! They are available on-line from Cash's (link above) or by ordering from Broadbridges.
ALL ITEMS MUST BE LABELLED WITH THE PUPIL'S HOUSE AND HOUSE NUMBER, NOT JUST WITH HIS/HER NAME
Our photos of label positioning will help new parents sew name tapes on school kit and own clothes correctly.
Please be precise when positioning labels, as this will help ensure your son/daughter gets his/her laundry back promptly and will save him/her a trip to Lost Property.
- All own clothes (including underwear) must also be labelled at the back of the neck or back of the waist or on the leg as appropriate
- Shoes must also be marked or labelled
- All personal possessions including school bag and pencil case must be labelled clearly with your son/daughter's surname and house abbreviation and number (as above) using sticky labels, etching or permanent marker as appropriate
