School Marshal / School Staff Instructor
The School Marshal’s primary role is to assist with the smooth and efficient running of the school by ensuring that school discipline (behaviour, conduct, appearance, punctuality, etc.) is maintained at all times.
As SSI you will provide support to the Combined Cadet Force, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and other Outdoor Education priorities for the school, including maintaining CCF records; assisting with training; managing the equipment stores and assisting the Contingent Commander with the management of Military and School budgets.
The school is co-educational with pupils aged from 11 to 18 and previous experience working with young people, preferably in a school environment, is desirable.
You will need to be able to work to a flexible timetable, including evenings and weekends, be smart and presentable at all times and be able to command the respect of pupils and staff, setting high standards and enforcing them in a professional and calm manner.
Full participation in the broader life of this busy boarding community is essential and accommodation is provided at a subsidised rent.
Benefits include 31 days’ annual leave (including bank holiday allowance); pension; meals while on duty during term-times and discounted membership of the on-site sports centre. We also operate a Childcare Voucher scheme
Applications should be received by midday on Friday 7th July 2017. Previous applicants need not reapply.
