A very unusual opportunity opens in September 2018 for the right candidate to take up the reins as the Head of the Royal Mathematical School at Christ's Hospital. Whilst the post will involve leading a strong department through the annual rhythms of year 7-13, GCSE, IB Diploma and A Level teaching, the successful candidate will also have the vision, interest and leadership to put The Royal Mathematical School at the centre of school life.
This appointment coincides with the recent appointment of a new Headmaster to Christ's Hospital whose 5 year plan places STEM subject development and excellence at its centre. The history of The Royal Mathematical School is a fascinating one – more about it can be found here:
https://www.christs-hospital.org.uk/about-ch/the-royal-mathematical-school/. However, the right candidate for this post will not be re-working old patterns, but finding new ground for the school’s Mathematical ambitions and fronting its STEM growth.
Full participation in the broader life of this busy boarding community is essential and accommodation on site will be available.
Applications should be received by midday on Friday 23 February 2018. Interviews of the short-listed candidates will be held at the school w/b 5 March.
Christ’s Hospital is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
