Teacher of German

Closing date for application: 17.01.2019

An opportunity has opened up for a well-qualified, committed, skilled and inspirational Teacher of German for September 2019.  Christ’s Hospital offers its staff an extraordinary chance to be part of an educational culture which is time-tested, modern and always evolving.

The successful candidate will motivate and encourage our students to develop a love of language learning and ideally will be able to teach German both as a foreign language and to native speakers. The ability to teach a second modern language from French and Spanish is desirable. Candidates must be able to work well within a team and teach German language through all stages to A level and IB Diploma. An exceptional candidate may have the opportunity to teach German literature. This post might suit someone with a Staatsexamen degree.

We offer an induction and support programme for both newly qualified and well-established teachers, providing an excellent opportunity for career development.

Full participation in the broader life of this busy boarding community is essential and accommodation will be available.

Applications should be received by 9am on Friday 18th January 2019.

Interviews of the short-listed candidates will be held at the school within two weeks.

Christ’s Hospital is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All successful applicants are required to complete an enhanced disclosure application with the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).  More details on the disclosure process can be found on
