Sixth Form
Sixth Form
Where ambition meets opportunity
The Sixth Form at Christ’s Hospital offers more than just academic challenge — it’s a transformational experience that equips students with the knowledge, independence and character to thrive at university and beyond.
Our distinctive approach combines academic excellence, leadership development and a supportive community — all within a unique setting that inspires confidence and ambition.
Academic Life
In the sixth form students typically choose either four A-level subjects or three A-levels alongside an Extended Curriculum option. This extended curriculum includes AS-level courses, language options, and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which fosters independent research and critical thinking skills.
All sixth formers participate in the “Learning for Life” (L4L) program, which covers topics such as critical thinking, ethics, personal finance, and wellbeing, preparing students for life beyond school.
A Broader Education
Life in the Sixth Form extends far beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to discover their interests and take on challenges that build confidence, resilience and leadership skills. There is an enormous range of sport, music, art, drama and expeditionary education as well as activities, clubs and societies on offer and opportunities include:
- Expeditionary Education
- Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme
- Model United Nations
- Combined Cadet Force (CCF)
- Community Action programme
- Debating and public speaking
- Leadership roles in boarding houses and societies
- Performing in our renowned Marching Band
These experiences help students grow into capable, curious and grounded individuals.
A Community Where You Belong
Whether you are a boarder or a day student, you’ll quickly feel part of the Christ’s Hospital community. All students join a boarding house, where they are known, supported and given the space to grow — socially as well as academically.
Day students enjoy the same access to school life beyond lessons, benefitting from the friendships, facilities and flexibility that make Sixth Form life here so rewarding.
