Band Concert

We were delighted to be joined by the Band of the Royal Marines School of Music for a joint concert on 25 February.

The weekend started in style with the combined bands leading Lunch Parade on Friday afternoon, before an intensive rehearsal that evening. Many of the visiting musicians were only a few years older than our students and so provided a relatable vision of professional musicianship. We were thrilled to welcome back Ruby Manderson-Phillips (Old Blue/former student), who arrived at CH not playing a musical instrument before taking up the euphonium, joining the band, and going on to pursue a career with the Band of the Royal Marines. It was wonderful to see what one of our recent leavers is up to.

Our student musicians and soloists more than held their own with the guest ensemble, earning a standing ovation from a sold-out Big School.
