The magic of the movies came to CH when film locations manager Philippa Sutcliffe came to give a Careers Tea talk and Q&A session for our senior students on 22 May.
Philippa delivered a presentation on how the film industry works and what film locations management is, sharing many secrets and insights from behind the silver screen. Philippa is an industry-leading locations manager who has worked on a range of feature films and TV programmes in the UK, including: Suffragette (2015), Bridget Jones’ Baby (2016), Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), The Personal History of David Copperfield (2019), Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), Napolean (2023), The Royals (2015-2018), Avenue 5 (2020), The Essex Serpent (2022) and Outnumbered (2014-2024). Philippa also shared her insights from working as a stage manager in the West End theatre, and from her current role at Forestry England as national filming and locations manager.
Students had the chance to ask Philippa their questions and were also fortunate to see snippets of Philippa’s behind-the-screen work.
