Celebrating an outstanding set of A level results

Congratulations to Christ’s Hospital students on an outstanding set of A level results.

More than 40% of grades were awarded at A* or A, with nearly 70% at A* to B. Almost one in five grades was an A*, while eleven students achieved three or more A* grades. Special congratulations go to the two students who achieved four A*s, and to the two students who achieved an exceptional five A*s.

While there are many outstanding individual successes to celebrate, these results also reflect the determination, aspiration and achievement of the year group as a whole. Forty-one students achieved the equivalent of AAA or better, with the cohort achieving an average grade profile equivalent to AAB.

The commitment of our students has enabled them not only to achieve academic success, but also to develop as confident and capable young people.

An extraordinary 80% of leavers secured their first choice of institution, with students heading to some of the world’s leading universities.

Two students will take up places at Harvard University, both having been awarded competitive financial support, while a number of successful Oxbridge candidates will go on to study subjects ranging from Classics and French to Natural Sciences.

The breadth of destinations across the year group is equally impressive, with students securing places on highly competitive courses including Veterinary Medicine at Surrey and Nottingham, Engineering at Durham, Psychological and Behavioural Science at LSE, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics and Chemistry at Imperial College London, Economics and Management, Law and MORSE at Warwick, Geography and Art and Technology at UCL, Psychology and History of Art at York, and Music at both Durham University and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

University is not the only destination. Several students have also secured highly competitive degree apprenticeships with leading employers including Dyson and RSM UK, combining higher education with valuable professional experience.
