Christ’s Hospital in Concert with the Royal Marines

We were delighted to be joined by the Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines from the Royal Marines School of Music for a joint concert on 13 February.

Performing to a packed Big School, our combined bands and corps of drums took the audience through an electrifying programme spaning fanfares, drum splits, showstoppers, solos, duets and each band’s ‘signature tune’: Sussex by the Sea, and A Life on the Ocean Wave.

Christ’s Hospital enjoys a fantastic relationship with the Royal Marines Band Service, with our own Band Director, Tim Carter, having served as a musician for 29 years before coming to CH. It was wonderful to welcome friends old and new, with our own students performing alongside trainees who are their age or only slightly older – including last year’s Band Captain, Fleur, now in training at the Royal Marines School of Music in Portsmouth.
