Christ’s Hospital students achieved great success at the Wimbledon High School for Girls Model United Nations conference on 4 October.

Ten pupils took part, representing South Africa and North Korea. Our two Secretary Generals, Catherine and Javina (both in Grecians/Year 13), provided outstanding leadership and encouragement, particularly for those attending their first conference.

Throughout the day, delegates debated a range of pressing global issues – from antibiotic resistance to the right of children in war zones to access education. Our students lobbied energetically for their resolutions, delivered persuasive speeches, and asked incisive questions, all demonstrating excellent understanding and diplomacy.

Their efforts were duly recognised at the closing ceremony: Javina was named a Distinguished Delegate and Catherine received a Highly Commended award. Both delegations were also declared Distinguished Delegations, ensuring that every participant returned home a winner.

It was a wonderful day – the students were a credit to Christ’s Hospital, and all are now looking forward eagerly to future conferences, including our own internal MUN later this term.
