Step into Christ’s Hospital’s Past

Christ’s Hospital’s museum has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. Now, with a bright contemporary gallery space, the museum is displaying a host of new exhibits including original CH wax seals of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, a doll salvaged from the London school after the Great Fire of 1666 and uniquely minted Housey money. The Museum will be open throughout the day for you to visit, with our team of curators and knowledgeable Old Blue volunteers on hand to answer all your questions about Christ’s Hospital and its history.
THE WALKING TOUR IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.
Guided Site Walking Tour with Refreshments. Time: 2pm Cost: £4 per person
If you would like to learn more about the history of Christ’s Hospital, our buildings, paintings and sculptures you can join one of our Museum Curators on a guided site walking tour. Places for the walking tour are limited and must be booked in advance. It will last approximately one hour leaving from Court Room, covering a distance of around one mile and finishing back at Court Room with tea, coffee and cake.
Booking for the walking tour is available during the registration process.
Please note: This is an open day for Old Blues and friends of CH to enjoy an unescorted visit of the grounds and the aforementioned buildings only. This date is outside of school term time, there will be no band parade and the day has no structured programme or activities besides the bookable walking tour.
We hope it gives those of you who wish to come to the School for a leisurely unescorted visit of the site, or to show your family and friends Christ’s Hospital, the opportunity to do so.
