Derek Owusu Lecture

On Monday 24 February, CH welcomed Derek Owusu, author of That Reminds Me and editor of Safe:  On Black British Men Reclaiming Space.

Derek delivered a lecture, to senior pupils, entitled: ‘Memory: A novel idea’ and explored the theme that no novel is completely a work of imagination and no autobiography is completely a work of non-fiction.  He also told how he came to write his own story.

Derek Owusu is a British writer and podcaster. He edited and contributed to the book Safe: On Black British Men Reclaiming Space (2019); his debut novel is That Reminds Me (2019). He is the former co-host of the literature podcast Mostly Lit and works at Penguin Books.
