Earls Colne and Halstead Educational Charity – New Trustee required. Can you help?

Monday 26 July 2021

The Earls Colne and Halstead Educational Charity is a grant-making organisation, giving grants to young people aged 25 and under, voluntary organisations and local schools located within the Charity’s ‘area of benefit’ which covers most of the northern part of the Braintree District and a small part of the Borough of Colchester. If you would like to see a full list of the areas covered more details are available on the charity’s website: echec.org.uk.

The charity is governed by a Board of 14 Trustees. Christ’s Hospital has an historical right to appoint one of those Trustees, for a four year term. A vacancy will shortly arise for this Trustee position and we are therefore looking for a volunteer to take on this role.

To give an idea of the commitment required, the charity meets three times a year, in February, July and November . These are evening meetings and take place in Halstead, Essex. There is also a Finance Sub-Committee which meets twice a year during the day. There is no requirement for a Trustee to serve on this Committee but they are welcome to become members of the Committee or attend in an ex-officio capacity should they so wish. All Trustees serve on a voluntary basis and are unremunerated.

If you would be interested in offering your services to this charity, on behalf of Christ’s Hospital, we would be delighted to hear from you. In the first instance please send your contact details to: Andrea Wellstead, Administration Officer by email acw@christs-hospital.org.uk or telephone 01403 247404 .
