Christmas Fair

The Christmas Fair was back in force post Covid on Sunday 4 December; it was two hours of excitement, music and wonderful stalls selling everything from homemade Christmas decorations to delicious cakes and biscuits. Other stalls included a basketball game, world champion ping pong, popcorn, a thrift shop, face painting, jewellery and the CH model railway. Among the highlights was a visit from Father Christmas (thank you Dr Wines!) and the sponge throwing (thank you Mr Reid and Mr Hughes for lending your faces!)

Providing a festive soundtrack were live performances by the Brass Ensemble, the Clarinet Choir, the Barbershop Quintet, Mid A Bell Ringers, the Gospel Choir and Dixieland Band.

Just over £3,000 was raised, all of which was donated to the house charities – including Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Hope Charity, Young Minds and Pageant Charity – and to this year’s Chapel charity, Crisis at Christmas.

A huge thank you to parents for helping to run stalls and for donating various raffle prizes, including a fabulous Christmas cake, as well as to the Monitors in charge of organising the fair, Ella and Timi. Thanks also go to the local businesses who donated generous raffle prizes!
