Christ’s Hospital 1st XI football preseason was a great success both on and off the pitch, as the players were put through their paces with a hectic schedule of training and matches. A 3-3 draw against Cranleigh was followed up with another dramatic 3-3 score line against the Old Blues. The Old Blues match took even greater significance in the 50th anniversary year of football at CH. Attending the match (as always) was the founding 1st team coach Bob Hailey (centre right), his successor John Hargreaves (centre) and the first football captain Ian Swalwell (one in from left).
