Four Christ’s Hospital Students Nominated for NSTA Awards
Four talented students from Christ’s Hospital have been recognised for their outstanding performances in the school’s recent production of Les Misérables, with all four receiving prestigious nominations in the National School Theatre Awards® (NSTA). Nana (DG/Year 12), Amelia (GE/Year 11), Dominic (DG/Year 12) and Amelie (DG/Year 12) have each been shortlisted for Best Actor/Actress in a Musical, cementing Christ’s Hospital’s reputation for excellence in the performing arts.
Their powerful portrayals in the beloved musical captivated audiences and judges alike, with Nana playing Marius, Amelia playing Eponine, Dominic playing Jean Valjean and Amelie playing Fantine. The nominations reflect not only their individual talent and dedication but also the strength of Christ’s Hospital’s drama and music programme.
In addition to his nomination, Nana has been given the huge honour of being asked to sing at the NSTA Gala in June. This special invitation will place him in the spotlight alongside some of the brightest young performers in the UK.
Head Teacher of Christ’s Hospital, Simon Reid, expressed immense pride in the students, stating, ‘We are thrilled to see Nana, Amelie, Amelia and Dominic receive this well-deserved recognition. Their commitment and passion for musical theatre have shone through, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.’
The NSTA Awards, affectionately referred to as ‘the Oscars for schools’, celebrate talent and provide pupils with a unique opportunity to showcase their skills and gain recognition from industry professionals. For more information, please go to: National School Theatre Awards
