Submitted by Julian Collinson
It is my sad duty to inform you of the passing of my Father Frank Arthur Collinson, 10th October 1926 – 18th November 2019, aged 93.
Frank attended Christ Hospital from 1936 to 1943 from where he entered service with the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment and fought in the Second World war, serving in Egypt and Greece before leaving in 1949 at the rank of Captain.
From there he went to on to forge a career as a chartered accounted working for a number firms in London. He moved to Chalfont St Giles where he married Jeannette Collinson in May 1968 and then moved to Corfe Castle in 1983, where he entered semi retirement.
He is survived by his wife Jeannette and his two children, Justine, his daughter, and Julian, his son, and three grandchildren.
He felt that he owed Christ Hospital a great deal of gratitude for giving him the opportunity to succeed where there have might have been none. I know from speaking to him over the years how immensely proud he was to attend the school and how it instilled the values of honesty and loyalty into everything that he did and achieved. He was a quiet family man, who took great pride in seeing them grow into the people that they are today, he will be greatly missed by all.
His funeral will be held at Poole Crematorium Gravel Hill Poole Dorset at 1400 hours on Wednesday 4th December 2019.
The family request that no flowers are sent and donations made to the chosen charity.
