Christ’s Hospital is delighted to announce that Grecian (Year 13) student and Senior Grecian (Head Pupil) Hetty has been offered a place to study at Harvard University.
Hetty has been accepted to read an undergraduate degree at Harvard, where she plans to concentrate in mechanical engineering. She has also secured an excellent financial aid package, covering tuition, accommodation and additional costs, with only a small contribution required from her and her family.
Hetty’s application involved writing a personal statement and a series of Harvard-specific essays, alongside detailing her extensive extra-curricular activities. She also sat the SATs and provided letters of recommendation.
As part of the admissions process, Hetty was interviewed by a Harvard alumnus in London and later took part in a further interview with a Harvard admissions officer via Zoom.
Reflecting on the moment she received the news, Hetty said:
‘I actually found out I’d been accepted while I was on the school Art trip to New York, at a basketball match. It was very surreal.’
Hetty’s achievement is a testament to her academic ability, determination and wide-ranging interests, as well as to the support and encouragement she has received during her time at Christ’s Hospital. The school congratulates her warmly on this outstanding success and wishes her every happiness as she prepares for the next exciting chapter of her education.
