History of Art Trip

Deputy Grecians (Year 12) went on a History of Art trip to the British Museum, on Friday 8 November.

The main point of the trip was to study the Parthenon frieze and all the wonderful Greek sculptures and monuments in the museum, such as the Nereid monument and the Temple of Halicarnassus.

The pupils also studied the 20^th century drawing exhibition; a highlight was the brilliant exhibit of post First World War German expressionist, Kathe Kollwitz; these prints and drawings were utterly mesmerising and all the students were blown away by them!
