House Singing Competition 2025

On 17 October, Christ’s Hospital was filled with music, energy and house spirit for the annual House Singing Competition. Every single student sang their heart out in what proved to be one of the most exciting and entertaining events of the year.

The performances were entirely student-led, showcasing impressive creativity and teamwork across all houses.

Congratulations to this year’s winners:

• Girls’ House Winner: Barnes A with a lively Meghan Trainor mashup
  • Second: Thornton B with Voulez Vous by ABBA
  • Third: Coleridge A with We’re All in This Together from High School Musical
• Boys’ House Winner: Peele A with Love Theory by Kirk Franklin
  • Second: Middleton B with Payphone by Maroon 5
  • Third: Barnes B with Best Song Ever by One Direction
• Grecians Winner: Grecians East with an upbeat 80s mashup

There were also prizes for the best conductors, who play such an important role in leading their Houses and bringing each performance together.

A huge thank you goes to our star adjudicator, Mark De-Lisser, for sharing his expertise and giving such warm, encouraging feedback to all the performers. Mark is an acclaimed vocal coach, award-winning choir director and one of the UK’s leading figures in choral performance.

From harmonies to choreography, the talent and enthusiasm on display made it clear that at Christ’s Hospital, House Singing is taken seriously – and enjoyed by all.
