Computer Science is available for Years 7 and 8. In this course students are encouraged to solve problems in terms of computational thinking and write corresponding algorithms to arrive at solutions. Initially, Coding is delivered in conjunction with the BBC Microbit and graduates to learning the Python programming language. Students are also encouraged to develop good touch-typing skills in addition to general use of software packages and computer management with the intention of raising ICT literacy.
For students who wish to further develop their interest, we run a Computer Science Active which affords an opportunity to code with robotics and electronics.
