On 29 April, the Careers’ Department ran a law skills workshop with barrister Tommy Seagull for any UF (Year 10), GE (Year 11) or Sixth Form students interested in law or developing their communication and debating skills. The session focused on practising the skills needed to be a good lawyer, and students worked on closing speeches, using genuine court case scenarios.
‘This was a highly informative event; we were able to practise presenting a closing speech, which gave us a realistic insight into the day-to-day life of a barrister. The evening helped me explore potential career paths.’
