Christ’s Hospital recently hosted its exciting bi-annual Maths Challenge for Year 5 children. The event took place on 10 February at the historic Guildhall in London and brought together 236 enthusiastic mathematicians from 57 schools across the region. It was a unique opportunity for the young students who attended to test their problem-solving abilities and mathematical knowledge with a series of challenging tasks and puzzles in a fun, interactive environment.
Student helpers from Christ’s Hospital provided guidance and support throughout the event, creating an encouraging atmosphere for all participants. At the end of the day, the top performers were recognised and awarded prizes for their achievements.
‘What a fantastic afternoon at the Christ’s Hospital Maths Challenge with our year 5 children – they loved every moment’ said Head of Mathematics at St James Preparatory School, Emma Foster. ‘It was such an inspirational day and a brilliant initiative.’
The Maths Challenge reflects Christ’s Hospital’s commitment to promoting excellence in education and nurturing young talent; it aims to encourage a love for mathematics among primary school children and foster a spirit of friendly competition.
