On 10 October, the senior creative writing cohort attended the private book launch of We Three Witches, the latest young adult novel by local author and Old Blue, Rosie Talbot.
Rosie, a former English Literature A level student at Christ’s Hospital and graduate of Oxford University, is an established YA author and a well-known BookTok creator.
The launch took place at Waterstones in Horsham, giving students a valuable insight into the world of publishing. They enjoyed speeches, themed crafts and the opportunity to meet members of the local literary community. Rosie generously gifted each student a signed copy of her new book, making the experience even more memorable.
This Michaelmas term, Rosie is also leading a creative writing project with senior students. Through a series of workshops, she is guiding them in how to plan and write a novel, as well as offering advice on how the publishing industry works.

Attending the book launch allowed students to see first-hand how ideas become published works, reinforcing the lessons they are learning through the project. The evening provided inspiration for these young writers, many of whom left eager to pursue their own literary ambitions.
