Old Blues Day – Postponed
Following the Government’s advice to limit the spread of Covid-19 we have, with regret, made the decision to postpone all CHOBA events due to take place through the summer term. This includes Old Blues Day.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this may cause, but our priority remains to safeguard the health and welfare of those who live and work at the School, our Old Blues and the general public, alongside the need to comply with official advice.
However, I’m pleased to let you know that Old Blues Day will now be held later in the year on Saturday 3 October.
The programme for the day will remain the same (with possibly some tweaks to times and places), and you can continue to book your places for this new date in the same way.
Our Old Blues Day theme of the National 75th anniversary celebrations of VE Day will remain the same with features for the day to include a VE Day Celebration Street Party, Tube Tours, a Great Escape up Sharpenhurst Hill, Giant Lawn Games, a Commemorative Chapel service, Barnes Wallis Foundation exhibition and the Museum showcasing CH on the Home Front in WWII, plus lots more!
We understand Old Blues Day is something that many of you look forward to, the one chance in the year to visit the School freely with friends and family, and we know many of you will be disappointed that we have had to postpone this event.
However, I know you will understand our reasons for doing this and I hope that you will be able to visit us in October for what I am sure will be an even bigger, better and more meaningful Old Blues Day than ever before.
So in these rather extraordinary times stay safe and stay well, and we hope to see you later in the year.
