7s ’71 Reunite: Friendship Across 50 Years and 10,000 Miles

Share

This summer the 1971 starters in 7s at Hertford met for a special lunch. It was a special day, because Alison Keenan, who Janet Loines (7s 71 -77) and Rachel Bowers (nee Green 7s 71-78) searched for and re-connected with through The Daily Mail, came over from Australia for a holiday and met with her school friends.

Janet said ‘we had only been at the table for a few minutes when someone from another table asked us if we could be quieter!!  We decided that was not possible – too much to talk about after 50 years!! – and so we moved to the other end of the restaurant next to an equally raucous group that we could compete quite happily with.  We all agreed that we had an amazing catch-up and plan to meet up again another time when Alison is visiting from Australia.’
