Christ’s Hospital Old Blues Janet Loines (7s 71 -77) and Rachel Bowers (nee Green 7s 71-78) had been trying to get in contact with Alison Davis, for many years, having lost touch when they all left Hertford. This summer Janet, in a final attempt, contacted the Daily Mail who run a “lost” friends column every Saturday.
Within a week of the article being published in the Daily Mail Janet and Rachel were in contact with Alison!
A member of the public responded almost immediately with a potential address for Alison’s older sister. Janet wrote to Alice’s sister who emailed her back immediately and forwarded her letter and the Daily Mail article to Alison. Alison had moved to Australia 20 years ago and is very happy out there.
They are now back in touch and the group are hoping to meet up next summer when Alison visits the UK. Janet said “It’s been fun catching up with her, and putting her in touch with other contemporaries of ours. We are all so excited to be back in touch.”
If you are trying to get in touch with a CH friends you may not need to go as far as contacting the Daily Mail! The choba.org website has a directory of over 3,800 Old Blues registered, which you can search through and connect with.
