Join us on this open day for Old Blues and friends of Christ’s Hospital to enjoy a leisurely day, where you will have open access to Christ’s Hospital’s fabulous grounds and the opportunity to learn more about the history and heritage of the school from 1552 to present day!
Chapel, Dining Hall, and the Museum will be open to visit * Have a picnic on Big Side * Bring bikes and scooters for a summer’s ride around the Mile * Lawn Games * Bookable walking tours with our Museum curators.
In the CH Museum:
40 Year Anniversary of the Hertford / Horsham Merger — photos and memorabilia from this era will be on display.
New Display celebrating 50 years of the CH Theatre.
Browse CH Museum’s extensively refurbished displays, filled with hundreds of nostalgia-inducing artefacts. Explore themes such as Music, Sport, Wartime and Boarding House traditions at London, Hertford and Horsham while discovering something of your own personal CH history in the context of our 500-year timeline. Additional memorabilia from your own eras will be available to see such as photographs and The Blue magazine.
The Museum will be open throughout the day for you to visit, with our team of curators and knowledgeable Old Blue volunteers on hand to answer all your questions about Christ’s Hospital and its history.
Guided Site Walking Tours with Refreshments: £4 per person
11.30am: Hertford / Horsham Merger tour
There’s more of CH Hertford around the site than you’d expect! Explore plaques, statues, portraits and stories that mark the merger and reflect our 433 year history with CH’s sister-site.
2pm: Christ’s Hospital’s History tour
If you would like to learn more about the history of Christ’s Hospital, our buildings, paintings and sculptures you can join one of our Museum Curators on a guided site walking tour.
Places for the walking tours are limited and must be booked in advance. They will last approximately one hour leaving from Court Room, covering a distance of around one mile and finishing back at Court Room with tea, coffee and cake.

Please note: This is an open day available to Old Blues to enjoy an unescorted visit of the CH grounds and the aforementioned buildings only. This date is outside of school term time, there will be no band parade and the day has no structured programme or activities.
