Christopher Lionel Tempest Stone, (Charley to all of his OB friends ) died on 2nd February 2019 , peacefully in hospital after a short illness, and will be very much missed by a number of his immediate BaA contemporaries, with whom he has maintained regular contact. He indulged a love of the classical music and the opera and had a sharp mind, and was always the most excellent company.
On leaving CH, Charley spent a short period in the New Zealand army before joining the Financial Times on their money markets team. He then joined Thompson Newspapers and became the London City Editor for the Glasgow Herald.
When he retired he remained in London, living in the London Barbican.
He leaves behind his wife Jenny, two daughters, Arabella and Jessica, and a son, Jonathan, as well as four grandchildren, Lola, Ruby, Alex, and Mathilda.Back to list
