My Brother, Peter Eric Rowland Ridley, (Prep A, Col B, 1950 to 1956), passed away in Launceston Tasmania on 26 May 2023 following an operation necessitated by a fall that resulted in a broken leg.
When he left CH he travelled to Singapore where our parents were working and then to study at Muresk Agricultural College in Western Australia where he met his wife, Kerry.. He continued his studies as a B Ag Science at the University of Western Australia after graduating from Muresk.
Upon completion of his degree, he became a research officer with the Western Australian Government running the Research Station at Muresk until 1976, He then moved to Launceston, Tasmania to undertake beef cattle research there.
His next move was to Darwin in the Northern Territory in 1989 to take the lead in beef cattle development programs there.
He remained there until 2003 when he retired to St Helens in Tasmania to a peaceful life following his love of fishing. His final move was to Launceston in 2019 where his daughter and her family lived.
He is survived by his wife Kerry, his daughter Allison Crichton, son Timothy, four grand children and 4 great-grand children.
