Remembrance Sunday

Christ’s Hospital marked Remembrance Sunday again this year on 10 November with an atmospheric chapel service and ceremony.

After a special Remembrance Service in Chapel, the whole school formed up silently in the Quad to hear ‘The Last Post’ ring out on the trumpet, and on the first strike of the clock at 11 am, observe a two-minute silence.

Senior Grecian, Hoyeon, read the Ode of Remembrance and, along with the Second Monitor and Senior Cadet, laid wreaths against the commemorative plaque on the wall of Dining Hall.

Following the Act of Remembrance, students silently dispersed across the Quad and ‘planted’ their poppies.
