Olga Parr, Grecian (Year 13), took the Associate of the Royal Schools of Music (ARSM) Diploma – a post-Grade 8 exam – on the flute - and passed with distinction. This is an outstanding achievement from one of the School’s leading musicians.
A talented flautist and singer, Olga says this award has given her the confidence to raise her ambitions ever higher. Following her solo singing performance on stage at the Jazz and Blues Night in the School’s theatre before February half term, she is currently preparing for the next big event, the Angus Ross Memorial Concert on 18 March. As well as singing Rutter’s Magnificat alongside the Choral Society, Olga will play Rutter’s Suite Antique, accompanied by the School’s Chamber Orchestra.
Alex Hodgkinson, Director of Music, said: “Olga makes an enormous contribution to music at CH, and her diploma success is yet another impressive achievement in a long list. I have no doubt she has a bright musical future beyond school, and am proud that this will be built on the solid foundation a CH musical education provides for all our pupils.”Back to list
