Following the retirement of Marlene Fleming in August 2019, we are delighted to announce that Dr Ruth Brading has been appointed Deputy Head with effect from 1 September 2019. It says a great deal about both Dr Brading and Christ’s Hospital that this internal appointment emerged from a very strong field of well over 50 candidates.
Following Jon Perriss’s appointment as the Headmaster of Langley School, we are pleased to announce that Luke Walters has been appointed Deputy Head with effect from 1 September 2019.
Luke graduated with a BA (Hons) from Exeter, followed by an MA at Royal Holloway. Since then, he has taught English at Kingsfield School, Gloucestershire; Marlborough College, Wiltshire; he was Head of English at Reading Blue Coats School, Berkshire and, for three years after that, was teacher, Housemaster and the Head of Theory of Knowledge at Marlborough College, Malaysia. In 2015, he and his family moved back to the UK, to Ardingly College, where he is currently a Housemaster, Head of Staff Development, and Teacher of English.
Following the retirement of Stephen Golding in August 2019, we are delighted to report that Rev. Craig Huxley will be joining us with effect from September 2019. He trained at Canterbury Christ Church University, where he gained his Qualified Teacher Status before completing a Graduate Diploma focusing on Theology for Christian Ministry. Craig and his wife, Sarah, both currently teach at Benenden School in Kent where he was appointed Chaplain and Teacher of Philosophy and Religion in 2008.
ASSISTANT HEAD OF ENGLISH
Claire Bridgman has been appointed Assistant Head of English with effect from September 2019. Claire graduated from Liverpool University with a BA (Hons). She joins us from Marlborough College in Malaysia where she currently is Head of English, IB Coordinator, Head of Sixth Form and Extended Essay Coordinator.Back to list
