Christ’s Hospital has an exciting opportunity within our Estates management team following the planned retirement of our Buildings Maintenance Manager early in 2023.

You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the electrical, mechanical, public health and telephone equipment, services and supply infrastructure serving the estate.  You will manage and maintain the fabric of the building stock and provide a reactive repair service for faults and damages as well as plan refurbishment projects and manage to completion within agreed budgets.  You will ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with relevant statutes, current technical standards and best practice.

You will be qualified for C&G or equivalent in an electrical or mechanical discipline with a strong understanding of buildings related fire safety disciplines.  Ideally you will have a formal qualification in health and safety or be willing to achieve one.  You should have considerable experience in the buildings maintenance or construction industries and experienced in managing diverse trade teams.  Ideally you will have gained experience gained on both domestic and large commercial installations preferably in a School, University, FE College or NHS environment.

Hours of work are 40 hours per week, 8:00 to 4:30 from Monday to Friday.  Accommodation on site may be available and it is anticipated the successful candidate will be available to start work in January 2023.  Salary is c. £50,000 p.a. depending on qualifications and experience.
