Working at Christ’s Hospital
Cleaning Operatives
The post holders are responsible for providing a first-class cleaning service site wide to customers as appropriate to the responsibilities of the Cleaning Department. This may be either in the public areas of the school and/ or school boarding houses.
Our cleaning teams work all days of the week, therefore weekend working is involved in the role.
Additionally, the post holder may be required to undertake tasks to help out in other areas of Housekeeping and associated teams, for example Laundry and Portering, if required.

Based in Horsham, Christ’s Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable foundation which provides first class education to around 900 children from all backgrounds, supported by around 500 members of staff. If you wish to join our team, we currently have vacancies in our housekeeping team on a permanent basis. The post holder may, as and when required, undertake tasks and responsibilities across other areas within Housekeeping and associated teams. Our cleaning teams work all days of the week, therefore weekend working is involved in the role.

Hours & Shifts
- Hours are either 35 or 40 per week
- Rota is 5 of 7 days per week
- Working every other weekend is a requirement
- 52 weeks per year
