Cleaning Operative

£11.77 per hour

Based in Horsham, Christ’s Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable foundation which provides first class education to around 900 children from all backgrounds, supported by around 500 members of staff.  If you wish to join our team we currently have vacancies in our housekeeping team on a permanent basis .

Subject to meeting operational needs we can consider a variety of flexible working patterns and hours. Full-time and part-time roles are available, including weekends. Please indicate clearly in your application what hours you are interested in working.

Previous experience of cleaning in a residential school, commercial or school environment is helpful, although not essential. The role requires working while standing, covering large distances and flights of stairs on foot. Work tasks require reasonable physical effort in bending, twisting, and in pulling and pushing cleaning equipment.

Please note among other pre-employment checks, successful candidates will require an enhanced DBS check. This is a check for cautions, warnings, reprimands and convictions (including spent convictions) and a search of the DBS Children’s Barred List which ensures that a candidate is not barred from working with vulnerable groups.  If you have lived outside the UK you will also need to obtain a criminal record check for every country you have spent 3 months or more in during the last 10 years.
