Permanent Full Time 40 Hours per week
Salary £20,026 pa plus Fire Response Allowance £636 pa
As part of our risk management strategy, we are looking to recruit a Maintenance Operative to undertake regular inspections of the School’s emergency lighting systems, fire extinguishers, fire doors and final exit doors.
Working within the buildings maintenance department the post holder will be the sole member responsible for these inspections and will be expected to work alone at most times.
The post holder is also required to be an active member of our fire response team attending fire alarms as necessary.
The successful candidate will work on their own initiative, be literate, numerate, and accurate in the completion of written records. You should be comfortable working as part of a team as on occasion the post holder is required to provide assistance to other trade team members.
Experience of working in a school / college/ hospital environment would be advantageous as is a willingness to undertake training.
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Although there is a local train station own transport would be beneficial. All posts are subject to a probationary period of six months.

This is a check for cautions, warnings, reprimands and convictions (including spent convictions) and a search of the DBS Children’s Barred List which ensures that a candidate is not barred from working with vulnerable groups.
