Graduate Assistant Chaplain
Based in Horsham, West Sussex, Christ’s Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable Foundation, which provides first class education for over 900 children from all backgrounds, supported by over 400 members of staff.
We are now looking to recruit a Graduate Assistant Chaplain to join our Chaplaincy Team on a one-year placement from 1st September 2020 to 31st August 2021.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Christian Theology and a desire to deepen their experience of working with young people in a faith context. This position is ideal for someone exploring a vocation to ordained or lay ministry.
The Graduate Chaplain will have particular responsibility for overseeing and developing the Christian Union and other faith nurture groups across the school. They will also assist with Sunday, Midweek and special Chapel Services, as well as other Chapel activities. Involvement in the boarding and co-curricular life of the school and some teaching are also required.
The post is residential and single person accommodation is available. Heating, lighting and all meals during term-time will be provided as part of the package.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake one evening duty in a boarding house each week.
