We are recruiting for a Day Matron to join us from September 2020 to help look after up to 60 -75 girls and boys aged 17-18 years old, within the sixth form boarding house.  Sixth formers (called Grecians) are encouraged to become more independent and responsible as part of the transition from student life to life outside of school.  Duties include pastoral care responsibilities; administrative tasks, the control and issue of proprietary medications and pupils’ epipens etc., the organisation of pupils’ laundry and household linen as well as repairing uniforms.

Sensitivity to the needs of young people, good organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to work with others are essential to carry out this important role.  The post operates mainly in term time (33 weeks per year) although you will also be required to work up to 3 additional days before the start and after the end of each term.

This role is part of a job-share arrangement and the current vacancy is for the latter half of the week.  Working hours are:

  • 12:45pm to 6pm Wednesday
  • 8am to 6pm Thursday and Friday
  • 8am to 1pm on alternate Saturdays.
