Christ’s Hospital is looking a Groundsperson to join our Grounds team, maintaining the sporting surfaces, and the hard and soft landscaped areas at the School.

Salary c £24,000 per annum – To start as soon as possible.

Christ’s Hospital is an independent co-educational boarding and day school set in 1200 acres of rolling countryside. The School has extensive sports facilities including cricket, rugby and football pitches; tennis and netball courts plus two synthetic pitches.  There are also large formal planted and grassed areas with large environmentally friendly areas designed to attract bees, butterflies, bats and birds. We have exciting new facilities coming to the school including a new state of the art 6 lane all weather running track with an extended activity trail, all of which will be maintained by the grounds team. This is one of a kind to be installed in the country.

We are actively seeking to recruit a self-motivated person to join our highly skilled, results-driven team in maintaining the school’s sporting surfaces, hard and soft landscaped areas to the highest standards achievable.

If you have a passion for the outdoors lifestyle, a desire to learn and a willingness to achieve, a position in our team is waiting for you.

The successful applicant will ideally have;

 

– A relevant qualification in horticulture/ sports turf management or have a proven track record within the industry.

– A full, clean driving license.

– A good understanding of health and safety is required.

– A good level of fitness as this is a physically demanding roll

 

Full training can be provided for the right applicant who is keen and willing to learn new skills from an established highly experienced and qualified team of grounds staff. There is a possibility of offering this as an apprenticeship to the right applicant subject to funding.
