£ 6,511 per annum (based on a full time equivalent of £19,500 per annum) depending on qualifications and experience

Based in Horsham, Christ’s Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable Foundation which provides first class education to around 900 children from all backgrounds, supported by over 400 members of staff.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our Medical Centre team as soon as possible.

You will be expected to assist with the provision of a professional and caring nursing service for all members of the School, maintaining the highest possible standards of care. You will assist with the care and observation of pupils requiring admission to the Medical Centre, including those with suspected COVID-19, as required.  You will also be required to support pupils with outpatient appointments from time to time and escort pupils who are unwell across the school site to the Medical Centre.

Hours will be over 3 specific days Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, worked 9am-2:30pm Monday/Wednesday. Saturday working is from 10am to 5pm with a 30 minute break. This is a term time role, excluding Saturday leave weekends, and with hours to be worked at the start/end of each term across the school year. At times you may also be required to cover other shifts which will include some evenings and Sundays during term time for which time in lieu will be given.

You should be able to cope with periodic peaks in workload, stay calm under pressure and work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. Successful applicants will have experience in health care and a Skills for Healthcare certificate or NVQ level 3 qualification in Health or Health and Social care would be an advantage. A clear, full, driving licence is required to be maintained at all times as is annual medical clearance for driving. School vehicles (manual gearbox) will be used, and applicants should be confident driving a range of cars and able to meet the requirements of our insurance policy for driving as outlined in the person specification
