Christ’s Hospital has pioneered social mobility and challenged social inequality to provide an unrivalled start in life for disadvantaged children for nearly five centuries. As economic and social inequality continue to grow in the UK, Christ’s Hospital’s mission is ever more relevant.

We require, for September 2022, a House Parent for one of our girls’ boarding houses. The house runs from Year 7 through to Year 12 and is home to around fifty pupils from a diverse and interesting range of backgrounds. Boarding is at the very heart of Christ’s Hospital life and the positive transformation that we are able to achieve in so many of our pupils are as a direct result of the outstanding pastoral care we provide within the boarding context.

The successful candidate will be able to make a useful teaching contribution to one of the academic subjects currently on offer at Christ’s Hospital.  Full participation in the broader life of this busy boarding community is essential and accommodation linked to the boarding house will be provided.

We welcome applications from all sectors of the community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our student intake. We consider the most important factor to be the right skills, abilities and attitude for the job which will ultimately improve the well-being and education of the pupils. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.  To apply please go to: https://www.tes.com/jobs/vacancy/house-parent-west-sussex-1560556

Applications should be received by 9am on Wednesday 9th February 2022. Interviews will take place on Thursday 17th February 2022.

Christ’s Hospital is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All successful applicants are required to complete an enhanced disclosure application with the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).  More details on the disclosure process can be found on www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check.
