Maintenance Operative (Routine Building Inspections)
We are looking for a Maintenance Operative (Routine Building Inspections) to join our busy Building's Maintenance Team.
Christ’s Hospital School is situated in 1,200 acres of Sussex countryside, with an extensive and diverse range of building and facilities. Our Building Maintenance Department manages both the school and residential buildings, most dating back to the early 1900s.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure compliance with British Standards of our emergency systems and equipment around our site.
- Schedule, inspect & test all emergency lighting systems in accordance with British Standards and accurately record their condition.
- Periodically inspect fire doors and accurately record their condition.
- Periodically inspect final exit doors and accurately record their condition.
- Periodically inspect fire extinguishers and accurately record their condition.
- Periodically inspect accessible toilet alarms and accurately record their condition.
- Periodically inspect lift operation and accurately record their condition.
- Carry out any additional compliance related tasks.
The position is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of circa £25,500 depending on experience.
