We have vacancies for Matrons’ Assistants to work in several of our boarding houses. A usual working day is between 9am and 1pm*, and candidates should be able to work an ideal of 2-5 weekday days, during term time, with Monday, Tuesday and/or Friday being particularly useful to us.
The successful candidates will join a team headed by two resident House Parents, House Tutors, Resident Matrons and existing Matrons’ Assistants to help look after approximately 90 pupils within the boarding house. Duties include the sorting, checking and repairing of pupils’ clothes and laundry; assisting the on-duty Matron with pastoral care duties and administering medication under supervision (for which training will be provided).
Sensitivity, good organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to work with others are essential to carry out this role, as is being able to use a sewing machine.
We welcome applications from all sectors of the community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our student intake. We consider the most important factor to be the right skills, abilities and attitude for the job which will ultimately improve the well-being and education of the pupils. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are members of the Schools Inclusion Alliance and hold the Rainbow Flag Award.
We can only accept completed application form and are unable to accept CVs alone.
*Some flexibility is possible over working hours/days. Please include details of availability within your application.
Applications should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by 9am on Tuesday 28th June 2022. Interviews will be held the following week.
