Matrons’ Assistant
We have a vacancy for a Matrons’ Assistant to work in one of our boarding houses. A usual working day is between 9am and 1pm (though the option also exists to work between 8.30am and 2pm if suitable).
We are seeking someone to work Fridays during term time, although you will also be required to work some additional Fridays to help before the start of each term. The option would also exist to do occasional cover work (for absences and illnesses) on other days of the week if you wished.
The successful candidate will join a team headed by two resident House Parents, House Tutors, Resident Matrons and existing Matrons’ Assistants to help look after approximately 90 pupils within the boarding house. Duties include the sorting, checking and repairing of pupils’ clothes and laundry; assisting the on-duty Matron with pastoral care duties and administering medication under supervision (for which training will be provided).
Sensitivity, good organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to work with others are essential to carry out this role, as is being able to use a sewing machine.
We welcome applications from all sectors of the community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our student intake. We consider the most important factor to be the right skills, abilities and attitude for the job which will ultimately improve the well-being and education of the pupils. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. We are members of the Schools Inclusion Alliance and hold the Rainbow Flag Award.
Applications should be sent to hr@christs-hospital.org.uk by 9am on Thursday 10th November 2022. Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 14th November.
