Due to the resignation of a member of staff, we need a part-time (term-time only) driver & chaperone to provide safe and efficient transportation of Christ’s Hospital pupils to and from clinic and Hospital appointments using a school car. In the case of pupils under 16 years, the post holder will also accompany students to the appointment and report back to the school on all relevant aspects.

Previous experience of working with children is preferred. The successful applicant will be able to establish a rapport with, and support a diverse range of students, as well as working flexibly with others on the team and with professionals external to the school. Fluency in English is required and the ability to understand, assimilate and report accurately about medical information is essential.

A clear, current driving licence is required to be maintained at all times as is annual medical clearance for occupational driving. School vehicles (manual gearbox) will be used and applicants should be confident driving a range of cars and able to meet the requirements of our insurance policy for driving as outlined in the person specification . The post holder will have a good local geographic knowledge. Hospital appointments are generally in Horsham, Crawley, Redhill, East Grinstead or Worthing.

Hours of work are 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday during term time (33 weeks per year), with the possibility of occasional overtime.
